Sometimes you just need a second chance…a “take-two.” If you are a photographer of babies you know that the unpredictable nature of photographing newborns can be a test of patience and determination! And if you are a mother who has been through a newborn session you know it can be HARD to make your baby sleep on command. Helena was no exception to these rules. : ) The first time I met with them for their newborn session we did everything we could, but she fought sleep.
Mom and I were both hoping to get more sleepy baby photos, so we decided to give it another try a week later. Little Helena gave us a run for our money but we pulled out all the stops (nursing, heating pad, womb white noise, hot room, coddling, shushing, you name it!) and eventually she caved and fell into a deep sleep. SUCCESS. She is so beautiful and now thanks to her parents’ hard work and determination we were able to capture these photos. Soon she will have grown so much; these photos will help them remember this time.
Oh! And the last photo is of Helena and her friend Mason. Could they be any cuter??

I can’t believe little Colin is 3 Months already! And I’m sure you will hear me say it again when I see him next for his 6 month photos : ) What an adorable little baby he has grown into. He gave us lots of smiles and beat all of his previous “tummy time” records for me! His mama is a physical therapist so she was especially proud of him showing off for me : )

I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. Psalm 59:16

When my college roommate, Stacey, asked me to photograph her family in celebration of Elliot’s 1 year birthday I was thrilled! They live in Pullman to finish Jim’s PhD, so we rarely see them. Elliot had a wild ride into this world a year ago, but we all are so thankful he’s happy, healthy, and just perfect. Let me tell you…it was Hard to delete any images from this session. One-year-olds are filled with a million expressions, and I got a lot of them : ) From serious with mom, to smiles wider than his face, to “please, people: no more cake!”
I love you guys, and thanks for spending part of your short weekend with us. Hugs and Kisses to Elliot – Happy Birthday!
You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call on you. Psalm 86:5
